For several years FEMC has put together a Friend’s and Family Christmas Dinner where we, along with our friends and families, celebrate Christmas with good food, lots of laughs and a short program. It takes a tremendous amount of work from many people and yet each year everything comes together and we’re all still friends at the end. It’s also a great way to see the church come and work together using everyone’s strengths. Some people decorate, some cook, some clean, some act as part of the drama, others help make music. It takes the whole church working together and it’s really something to see.
As an example, one of the scenes for this year’s program was supposed to be about everyone rushing to Bethlehem. To make it look good we needed a good sized crowed of people. A request was made for people to stick around after church one Sunday for a few minutes and the result really speaks for itself.
The hours and hours put into every part of the evening makes it special and enjoyable.
